No. 16 Beach & Beyond
Only 10 minutes from our door, Number 16 Beach is the halfway point along the 26-kilometre-long coastal walk through the Mornington Peninsula National Park from Cape Schanck to Sorrento Ocean Beach. From here you can watch Humpback Whales migrating July-August, explore crystal clear rock pools and climb unique rock formations all while enjoying your morning coffee from 16 Beach General Store.
Lizard Head Rock
Follow the path to the left, down to the beach to find this massive, unique rock formation. Low tide is the best time to explore.
Rock Pools
At low tide, venture down to the beach to explore hundreds of natural pools full of all sorts of wonders. Careful, the seaweed is super-slippery!
Dragon’s Head
Grab a coffee from No. 16 Beach General Store and wander down to the beach to check out this amazing natural rock formation – best viewed at low tide.
The Rock Pool at Bridgewater Bay
Take a right at Number 16 Beach for a scenic 30-minute stroll to Bridgewater Bay. Here you will find the famous Rock Pool. Make sure you go at low tide and be prepared for crowds during peak times over Summer.
Spray Point
5km towards Portsea along the Mornington Peninsula Walk is Spray Point. A 2-3 hour return walk from Number 16 beach featuring dramatic cliff top views and stunning rock formations and native flora along the way.
